About Margot Ridler
How long have you been doing the work you are doing and why do you call yourself an intuitive visionary?
I call myself an intuitive visionary because I have come to understand what it takes to live with lasting peace, freedom and happiness. After having been involved in the personal transformation and empowerment industry for almost twenty years, I came to the shocking realization that personal transformation does not bring about what I call True Freedom. Personal transformation does exactly what the term implies - transform the personal self. You improve yourself, change negative aspects into positive ones, and makeover your personal self into a more competent, positive and better functioning self. However you will not free your true nature this way. The real YOU, which is the source of true peace and happiness, will remain trapped. Now it is simply trapped behind a more well-thought-out and improved structure of self.
How did you come to this revolutionary realization?
To answer this question, I must start at the beginning, because for me the process of liberation and freedom unfolded over the course of my entire life. Before I begin, I would like to place a disclaimer because my story is truly radical and might scare you. However, only by going through all that I went through could I reach the understanding I now have. I can assist you in the manner I do because I am someone who has been through the fire and has come out the other end a changed person. Please, read this overview of my journey as a testament of what I encountered so that you know my qualifications. I believe I went through the fire so that maybe you don’t have to, so I can assist you in understanding how life truly works. Thank you for your interest and willingness to explore what I share and teach.
Ever since I was a small child, I lived with extreme depression, anxiety and bitterness. I come from a family system whose family members and ancestors lived lives that were fraught with severe trauma, suffering, pain and unhappiness. When I was 28-years-old, my therapist sent me to learn how to meditate to reduce the high stress levels I was experiencing. Moments after sitting down with my eyes closed, it was as if a door was ripped open inside of me. In an instant, the misery I’d carried all my life vanished as if it had never existed. I felt alive, vibrant and happy for the first time in my life. I had no idea a person could feel this good. The heavy energy of anxiety and resentment, which had kept me down for almost three decades was completely gone. As I walked out of the meditation hall it seemed that my feet weren’t touching the ground. That’s how light and free I felt. Somehow, miraculously, access to my habitual self had been severed. I no longer operated from my usual “me”. This delightful way of being, which I call True Freedom, lasted four weeks. Then my familiar, depressive self resurfaced and took over again. But now I knew that a different way of life was possible. What was this other state? How could it surface from one instant to the next? Where had it been hiding all this time? Why did it not continue? How could my life-long negativity disappear in one fell swoop? What was required to reclaim this state of True Freedom so I could live it for the rest of my life? All these questions circulated around in my brain. I vowed I would not rest until I gained all the answers to all my questions one day, not leaving one stone unturned, no matter what it took.
After I made this promise, my life took a completely unforeseen turn. I began to explore ways in which I could release deeply held, life-long negativity in the quickest, most profound manner possible. I began working with children and later with adults and families. This is how my career in the personal transformation and empowerment industry began in the late 1980’s. It was Bert Hellinger’s trans-generational healing approach called Family Constellation Work that generated the most amazing results not only in my own life but also in the lives of my clients. I loved facilitating family constellations because in one session, I was able to help people release challenges they carried their whole life. It was incredibly rewarding to free my clients of their unconscious entanglements with trauma, pain and suffering that weren’t actually theirs but had been passed down to them from their family members and ancestors as inherited legacies.
To me, Family Constellation Work was like a super highway that offered a fast track to True Freedom. This is what I thought anyway, until December 2005. That’s when a direct-seeing showed me that the human vessel is empty and devoid of a personal self. It was such a clear understanding of a phenomenon I knew to be true but couldn’t rationally explain. Realizing that the human body exists without a personal self, made my professional work instantly inconsequential. Who was I serving if a person didn’t have a personal self? Why work on changing negative aspects into positive ones when the self didn’t exist? The direct-seeing revealed also that working on the personal self was a never-ending enterprise. As soon as one issue was resolved another issue would pop up in an hour, a day, a week, a month. Suddenly, it was so obvious that personal transformation was incapable of setting a person truly free from their continuous troubles and challenges. But what would? At the time I had no idea. Instantly, my sense of integrity let me know I could not continue my work now that I knew I was unable to assist people in reaching True Freedom. It was True Freedom that I had vowed to gain for myself and had committed to help others to reach also. Since I now knew Family Constellation Work was unable to get us there, I closed the doors to my business immediately. Without a moment’s consideration of what this might mean to me and my future, I walked away from my profession and life I had built for almost twenty years.
What happened after this has been the ride of a lifetime. I am sharing with you here just a brief synopsis. You can read about my incredible journey in my second visual book The Liberation Process - How I Cracked The Code Of True Freedom. Within six months, an incomprehensible process ensued that deconstructed the densely knit conglomerate of my personal self. The previously sturdy sense of Margot Ridler became ever more flimsy. Its many thoughts, beliefs, ideas, concepts, values, meanings and knowledge collapsed daily at rapid speed. Additionally, the ability to remain plugged into our regular Western lifestyle and social structure became impossible. Within a short few months I was rendered homeless and almost penniless. Having my entire personal self-structure and stable life disassembled made absolutely no sense. I had never heard or read anything about this happening to anyone else during all the years of my professional studies. I began calling this emptying-out, clearing-away and making-space experience, Liberation Process. As strange and unfamiliar as this unfolding was, I knew everything was going to be okay. On many occasions, for a few hours at a time, the same delightful way of being surfaced that I had experienced for one month all those years ago. I understood that I was undergoing a process that was unprecedented. I would have to ride this process out to wherever it would take me. Eventually, I found evidence that the Liberation Process was well documented. Throughout the ages, the exact same process that transpired for me was explained in great detail in many spiritual and religious traditions. This is when I realized that the process that had been unfolding for me was not a psychological one. It was about uncovering my essential, true and immortal nature, which exists beyond the personal self. This explained why I hadn’t found the Liberation Process recorded in any Western psychological material. Our current scientific model of a human being has no reference point for a self that exists beyond the personal self.
For the next three and a half years, I lived as a homeless, penniless wandering hermit in Central America and Mexico. I didn’t speak the local language; didn’t know why I was in these countries or what I was going to do from one moment to the next. As strange as this statement might sound, it was extremely fortuitous to find myself in this severe condition. Being thoroughly immersed in the unknown was the only way to learn about True Freedom - and what True Freedom looks and feels like lived in daily life. Since the content of my personal self had been mostly erased, I could practice all day long living without the dictates and promptings of my personal self. The normal fears, worries and uncertainties, which would have otherwise been enormous, weren’t activated. No mental chatter plagued me. No anxieties about how to survive were ripping my sanity apart. No confusion of what to do from day to day was making my physical body ill. Nope! I was vitally alive, alert and truly present to each moment. My awareness was super sharp. I was highly perceptive of everything that was going on around me. It was like I had gained a bird’s eye view that allowed me to notice aspects about life I would not have been conscious of before. When our minds are busy with non-stop mental chatter and our emotions are running wild with fears, needs, hopes, wishes, longings, likes and dislikes, our true nature’s awareness will be hijacked and trapped. We will be unable to take accurate notice of what is truly happening. Our awareness won’t be neutral, unbiased and clear. It will be preoccupied with the spewing forth of our habitual, automatic programming. Living life from not-knowing provides a life that is incredibly liberating, delightful, adventure-filled and free. Each moment, I felt excitement and delight about what would surface next. I felt so blessed for this firsthand, direct experience of living with True Freedom.
Then in November 2009, at the age forty-seven, a last and final shift in understanding took place. Traditionally, this shift is called spiritual awakening or enlightenment, although I simply call it direct-seeing. It’s when a person recognizes with their “second sight” the underlying, invisible, formless foundation of the physical world, including one’s own personal self. It was the ultimate Aha! moment I had been after since I was twenty-eight years old. What freedom! I laughed out loud at the absurdity of our beliefs and convictions. We take for real what isn’t real at all. We take as meaningful, valuable and important what isn’t meaningful, valuable and important at all. Suddenly, it was crystal clear how life truly worked. It’s the most ingenious setup imaginable. Our left-brain, logical thinking capacities and limited physical senses can never grasp that the essential nature of our physical world is non-physical. We believe we are this personal self, which we take to be real, solid and unquestionable. We cannot fathom that life could be done without it. However, we don’t realize that the personal self is a mere programmed, robotic, energetic structure. It is made up of inherited, regurgitated beliefs, thoughts, feelings, emotions and instinctual drives. It can never supply us with the freedom and happiness we seek. It’s the content of the personal self that produces the prison walls that make us feel stuck, small, hindered, trapped and unfree. Only by dismantling these prison walls can we ever hope to find our true, essential, immortal nature – the source of real peace, lasting happiness and true freedom.
Since 2012, I have dedicated my life anew. I am incredibly thrilled to once again help people find True Freedom, now that I know for certain what is required in reaching it. My work comprises five levels. Not all people will address all five levels in their work with me. In fact, most people will address only the first two or three levels. However, I hold the vision and awareness of all five. This allows my clients to get in touch with the vibration of freedom that is innate in them, which may spark in them the longing to live with True Freedom themselves. At the first level, I employ the insights, understanding and wisdom I gained during my Liberation Process to help my clients grasp the difference between their programmed self and their true self. At the second level, I utilize the trans-generational principles I acquired from Family Constellation Work to assist my clients in releasing their inherited mental, emotional and instinctual programming, which keeps their true nature trapped. At the third level, I help my clients understand what I learned from Shamanism. Our personal issues are simultaneously collective issues. I encourage my clients to see the bigger picture. By releasing their programming, they are contributing to loosen the stranglehold-grip humanity’s collective mental-emotional-instinctual programming has over us. It’s the collective force that makes programming so incredibly sticky and hard to release. At the forth level, my own process showed me that in its very core, all programming revolves around individual survival and self-preservation. How are we unconsciously organizing our life so that our survival, wellbeing and success are assured? What do we say yes or no to in order to feel safe, loved, wanted and that we count? True Freedom requires that we free up all of our programming, on all four levels: 1. individual/personal; 2. family/ancestral; 3. collective/humanity’s storyline; 4. self-preservation/life-death survival. These four levels are anchored deeply in each person’s DNA and have to be released with care, respect, kindness and gratitude. At the fifth level, the direct-seeing showed me the true nature of life. A unified body of invisible form, very much like air, underlies all physical matter. This unified, air-like form gives rise to all physical manifestations, animate and inanimate, including all human beings. I help my clients understand that when we allow ourselves to be guided by our true nature, we’ll be moved in a way that benefits all life. Personal self generated impulses toward one's own success and gain at the expense of others will no longer surface. It would stagger our imagination what kind of life and world could be created when masses of people would begin to operate from their true nature. Individuals would be moved to live life for the benefit of all life. That’s because each person’s true nature is the same as everyone and everything. Creating a world where all life prospers would be a foregone conclusion. It would be the most natural thing in the world. It would be completely logical and rational. It’s impossible to comprehend with our current mindset the changes that could potentially be produced overnight.
It's this freeing up of these five levels of programming that I offer my clients with my work. The openness, joy, spaciousness, delight and freedom that is experienced after the release of an inherited, unconscious programming is immense. To assist the best way possible, I created the one-month signature program Living Truly Free™ – A System For Releasing Trans-Generational Programming For A Fast Track To True Freedom. This program can be accessed from anywhere in the world for persons seeking True Freedom.
